The gap between good leadership and exceptional leadership is rarely a skills problem.
I'm Andrew Antony Walker - Chartered Psychologist and leadership / executive coach. I work with senior leaders in complex organisations (NHS, education, and beyond) where the gap between potential and impact is almost always a systems problem, not a skills one.

The problem I solve
Senior leaders don't underperform because they lack ability or commitment. They underperform because the environments they operate in are designed to obscure what's actually getting in the way - and because the higher you go, the fewer people there are who will tell you the truth.
Complexity compounds this. When your organisation is under external pressure (financial, political, structural) the demands on your leadership intensify at exactly the moment when the space to think clearly shrinks most. That is when the gap between your potential and your impact becomes most costly.
Part of what I do is help leaders see when the problem isn't in them - when the evidence framework, the evaluation structure, or the performance system itself is working against them.
My three pillars
Psychologically grounded: Built on chartered psychology and behavioural science, not leadership frameworks. The work goes to where behaviour actually originates.
Systemically aware: The evidence frameworks, performance structures, and evaluation systems your organisation uses are built on assumptions that are rarely examined. Understanding those assumptions (and what they obscure) is part of the work.
Outcome focused: Every engagement is shaped around what you need to change. The measure of progress is simple - are you leading differently in the situations that matter most?
My coaching
Whether you are looking for individual coaching or a programme for your leadership team, there are two ways to work together and one low-friction way to start.
